Posted on October 30, 2026

Shoes are firmly back in the fashion spotlight, and the shift to dressier trends is good news for Jimmy Choo.

During Capri Holdings Ltd.’s second quarter earnings conference call, chairman and chief executive officer John D. Idol said that the company is “encouraged” by the momentum it sees building at both its Jimmy Choo and Michael Kors brands. He noted that the company has been focused on elevating brand desirability, as well as strengthening product assortments.

For the quarter ended Sept. 26, Jimmy Choo revenue rose 11.5 percent to $146 million, which included $5 million attributable to earlier than expected timing of wholesale shipments. Gross profit was $104 million and gross margin was 71.2 percent, versus $92 million and 70.2 percent, respectively, a year ago. Operating income was $2 million, against the year-ago operating loss of $9 million.

Looking ahead for fiscal year 2027, Capri projected total revenue for the Jimmy Choo brand at $650 million. For the third quarter, Capri guided total revenue to $175 million, reflecting the $5 million impact of wholesale shipments that shifted out of the third quarter into the second quarter.

Idol told investors during the call that “trends at point-of-sale remained encouraging, supported by positive consumer response to our fall assortments,” which he noted drove double-digit increases in North American department stores.

This fall celebrated the brand’s 30th anniversary with two campaigns that reflected its distinctive “blend of luxury, glamour, craftsmanship and playful spirit,” Idol said.

He cited to one campaign, set in Italy’s historic Palazzo Gallarati, that included a showcase of statement boots, and another featuring influential fashion personality Devon Lee Carlson, whose style resonates with the generation of customers that the brand is trying to reach.

“We are broadening our customer reach, attracting new clients and reinforcing Jimmy Choo’s relevance with the next generation of luxury consumers,” Idol noted.

He also said that the brand is increasingly leveraging its advanced data analytics and AI insights to deepen customer engagement, adding that the initiatives are strengthening brand desirability and its relationship with customers through “more personalized engagement.” The latter contributed to a “7 percent year-over-year increase in Jimmy Choo’s global consumer database,” Idol said.

As the Jimmy Choo team builds out the brand’s accessories business and expands the casual footwear assortment, Idol said that strategy will extend “the house’s reach across categories and occasions.”

For its footwear offerings, Idol said “we were pleased with our performance across both casual and dress styles in casual footwear,” citing to versatile silhouettes such as the Margaux flat and Scarlett kitten heel.

He also said the core dress category delivered strong growth, citing to the Sacora sandal as one of the iconic styles that saw continued demand.

Idol also congratulated Sandra Choi, the brand’s creative director who will be honored with a special recognition award by the British Fashion Council at the 2026 Fashion Awards in London on Nov. 30. “This is a particularly meaningful honor and a testament to Sandra’s remarkable vision and enduring influence on the brand,” Idol said. (At the 2019 Footwear News Achievement Awards, Choi was the recipient of the Hall of Fame Award.)

Moving forward, Idol reiterated the company’s belief that Jimmy Choo can achieve “$800 million in revenue and operating margins in the low double-digit range.”

Jimmy Choo’s been showing indications of a rebound going back to Capri’s third quarter earnings report this past February, with its assortment of casual shoes and accessories. Idol, at the time, even indicated that the luxury brand could be an “$800 million business” over the next few years.

One month later, Idol told attendees at the Citi Global Consumer & Retail Conference that “We are on track with Jimmy Choo.” At the time, he noted the brand’s fourth quarter comps store increases and described wholesale sales as “powerful.”

In August when Capri posted first quarter results, the company said Jimmy Choo revenue rose 10.5 percent to $179 million. That means that the current quarterly results represents the second time in a row that the brand posted double-digit growth.
