Milan Fashion Week is wrapping up in Italy on Monday, and, as expected, the flurry of runway shows has brought about many striking footwear moments in the world’s luxury shoe capital. Off the runway at Milan’s footwear presentations, FN’s Katie Abel reported on the use of color and material innovation in the collections on display, seen with brands like Jimmy Choo and Paris Texas. On the runway, similar themes were present. While Gucci and Ferragamo skewed toward classic styles and neutral tones, Prada experimented with unique shapes and designs while Onitsuka Tiger got creative with colorful metallics and hybrid silhouettes. Giovanni Giannoni/WWD The aforementioned Prada shoe lineup put new twists on pump styles, including styles with small cutouts and floral embellishments, an open-toe style with a strap around the big toe and an architectural style with a curved pump and a strap across the toes.
