Skechers hasn’t been shy about its performance ambitions, and now the brand has its first super shoe.
The Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based company just added the Aero Elite to its Aero series lineup. The shoe is engineered to perform from 5Ks to marathons, with a design that minimizes weight and maximizes responsiveness, as well as delivering on comfort.

The Aero Elite is lightweight, weighing in at 5.9 oz, or 167 grams, in a men’s size 9 and 5.0 oz., or 142 grams, in a women’s size 7. It has a stack height between 40 millimeters to 36 millimeters and a 4 millimeter offset. The shoe also features Skechers’ Hyper Burst Pro, an ultralight supercritical foam in the sockliner and midsole that delivers a supportive and highly responsive ride for long-lasting comfort. There is also a the brand’s proprietary Quantum Plate, a full-length carbon-infused plate with the midsole that drives the foot forward for increased energy return. Moreover, the curved spoon-shaped plate is engineered to reinforce structural support and propulsive movement with minimal material.
Skechers also used its Hyper Arc Technology, a proprietary transition geometry, that promotes natural stride efficiency to help runners maintain peak performance from start to finish. The shoe was uses reflective material around the laces to enhance visibility and safety for night and low-light running. The shoe also features a breathable woven jacquard upper with the brand’s Performance FitKnit tongue and sawtooth laces to deliver a secure lockdown, while the Lite Group TPU outsole provides reliable traction and durability on every surface.
“The Skechers Aero Elite is the culmination of years of elite-level running innovation — our most technically advanced running shoe to date and a direct statement of intent as we look ahead to the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles,” Catherine Zou, Skechers’ senior director of product development, said. “It brings together the most innovative technologies we have to offer, combining the comfort and innovation runners trust with the performance needed to compete at the highest level.”
Zou said the company established its Skechers Aero Series to give runners options for every level and experience, with the Aero Elite now the “pinnacle of that promise.”

Of the different shoes in the series, the Aero Burst delivers soft, protective cushioning for everyday runs and longer efforts, while the Aeros Spark is for reliable daily training. Both are available with Skechers’ hands-free, slip-in technology. And for speed days, the Aero Razor provides a lighter, more responsive ride for tempo runs, workouts, and “runners looking to push the pace,” Skechers said.
Skechers said that beyond running, the company continues to expand its performance lineup across an extensive list of sport categories that include basketball, soccer, golf, pickleball/padel, and cricket for both elite and everyday athletes.
Skechers last year completed its $9 billion deal with 3G Capital to take the company private. The brand continues to innovate and expand operations. In April, Skechers opened its Copenhagen flagship as it continues to grow its European footprint. And in June, it inked a deal with mattress firm Serta. Skechers said at the time that the partnership will provide its comfort shoe technology for use with a new mattress collection for “consumers seeking better sleep as part of an active, modern lifestyle.”
